Beach Day- Cape May

This was Jahni's first trip to the beach! We went to Cape May NJ which is on the Jersey Shore, no not like the tv show because this beach is very very classy. Auntie Dara, me, and Jahni loved the water. It was perfect... Dara came from NYC to join us. Although we sat in lots of traffic to get there, as these pics show, it was such a nice time.

Naked Chocolate Cafe

After dinner at Le Castagne, a very good Italian restaurant near my work, we walked around Rittenhouse Square Park and went to Naked Chocolate Cafe for dessert. There we listened to a band called the Three Blind Mice play jazz music. It was so much fun...

Happy Birthday Jahni!

Jahni turned one on July 25 and we had nice, casual party at Franklin Square Park in Philly. we had a few kids and the park setting- which includes a carousel and mini golf was a lot of fun....

Not the Birthday Girl

Jahni and I went to celebrate her friend Teddy's birthday on Saturday. We had a lot of fun playing with all the fellow 1 year olds and being in awe of everyones development- Suri can walk, Teddy is so mellow, and other were so much bigger...

Trip to NYC to see Fences

Madhu uncle came to town so we went to NYC for the day to see Fences, the broadway play with Denzel Washington. The play was fabulous! We brunched at Alice's Tea cup on the upper east side, saw the play while Auntie Dara watched Jahni, and then went to Cafe Lalo on the upper west for sandwiches and dessert. The ride home was a very cranky time for Jahni, but what a nice full day of excitement overall.

A One Year Old's Birthday

We went to New Jersey with grandpa, Veena and Barbara for another one year old's birthday, this time at an Indian restaurant.

Madhu uncle and gang came to town for his friend's birthday party and we had dinner Friday night at Distrito in University City. It is a great Jose Garces restaurant with Latin American food. Great places for foodies.. yum yum.

Independence Baby!!

Grandma and Grandpa (mamama and ajja) came to visit for July 4th and later that weekend Vik, Iggy and Pachi joined us too. What chaos- 9 people sleeping in a 2 bedroom apartment- ever wonder what it is like to be Sardines? We saw fireworks -twice- at Penn's Landing and the next day at the Art Museum. Jahni's reaction was priceless. She loved the fireworks and was absolutely amazed by the sound and the brightness of it all. Can't wait for her to see more next year...
