Hey friends and family,
We have not posted since Feb/March 2010, but we are coming back. Jahni is now a "teradactyl" as we call her because she makes screeching sounds a dinosaur makes, as she is discovering her voice and how to shout. Boy does she shout if she is in an attention seeking mood! She is also very rambunctious, constantly moving around, fussing, pulling at our glasses and hair... She wants to be entertained, and sitting still is not an option. She is of course still cute, but after a long day at work, sometimes cute doesn't cut it and I need an extra dose of energy.
Although we are not loving this phase as much as 0-9 months, where she was primarily just cute, smiled, and played on her own, we are adjusting. She is the dominating one in our house now. We had such a great sleep schedule with her putting herself to sleep and sleeping in her crib. Now that routine is out the window, and she sleeps between us on a small queen bed. Sometimes we are afraid to move at night because she takes up so much room and we don't want to roll on her. She is sturdy and robust now and can be tossed around, which is nice because I don't have to worry about her being so delicate. We also call her our little toddler because she just does not seem like a baby anymore!! Parenthood is a challenge-- a wonderful challenge at times and a struggling challenge at other times. WE WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND ALL PARENTS OUT THERE FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN RAISING THEIR KIDS....
Love,
Divya

My parents came to town to pick up Avi from college. He finished his first year at UPenn. Can't believe it has been over a year since I started this blog! We made Jahni's hair in a high pony, which we call her "Pebbles and Bam Bam look" - she is Pebbles of course ;)
