Bahama Breeze
Madhu Uncle and Veena have come to Philly so many times that they were very low-key about our plans. Sunil and Madhu uncle went to get the registration for the Previa- the minivan Madhu uncle shipped for us from California, yay! Then we went to Bahama Breeze in King of Prussia, PA for a late lunch. Sunil and Madhu uncle went to Costco from there and the rest of us to Nordstrom Rack before heading home to eat pizza and watch the Stanley Cup. Sunil was feeling very sick, so he ended up going to sleep early.

Trip to NYC and Applebees
et
r
Veena Atta came a day early so we could go to NYC for a shopping day. Overall, Veena did well at Nordstrom Rack and I got some stuff at Bloomies. We both ended up exchanging and returning a bunch of our purchases. For lunch we went to Dos Caminos and in the evening Madhu uncle landed and we ended up at Applebees for dinner, since Sunil wasnice enough to pick us up from Trenton. We took the train to NYC, which is getting to be super expensive with the fare increases...

Stacy's Wedding
c
My co-worker, Stacy, got married n a beautiful Jewish ceremony at a wedding facility in New Jersey. I remember the food being so memorable- think fried macaroni balls, mashed potato bar, pastas, sushi, salads, crudites, spring rolls, and every other type of appetizer you can possibly name. I was full even before dinner, and this was one of those gain 3 lbs the next day kinda meals. The jewish dancing was fun, and I am glad we were invited to be a part of Stacy's special day.

Mamama and Ajja Visit
Hey friends and family,
We have not posted since Feb/March 2010, but we are coming back. Jahni is now a "teradactyl" as we call her because she makes screeching sounds a dinosaur makes, as she is discovering her voice and how to shout. Boy does she shout if she is in an attention seeking mood! She is also very rambunctious, constantly moving around, fussing, pulling at our glasses and hair... She wants to be entertained, and sitting still is not an option. She is of course still cute, but after a long day at work, sometimes cute doesn't cut it and I need an extra dose of energy.
Although we are not loving this phase as much as 0-9 months, where she was primarily just cute, smiled, and played on her own, we are adjusting. She is the dominating one in our house now. We had such a great sleep schedule with her putting herself to sleep and sleeping in her crib. Now that routine is out the window, and she sleeps between us on a small queen bed. Sometimes we are afraid to move at night because she takes up so much room and we don't want to roll on her. She is sturdy and robust now and can be tossed around, which is nice because I don't have to worry about her being so delicate. We also call her our little toddler because she just does not seem like a baby anymore!! Parenthood is a challenge-- a wonderful challenge at times and a struggling challenge at other times. WE WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND ALL PARENTS OUT THERE FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN RAISING THEIR KIDS....
Love,
Divya

My parents came to town to pick up Avi from college. He finished his first year at UPenn. Can't believe it has been over a year since I started this blog! We made Jahni's hair in a high pony, which we call her "Pebbles and Bam Bam look" - she is Pebbles of course ;)

Chloe's 1st Birthday
Sunil's friend Andrew's younger sister, Michelle's daughter, Chloe, had her first birthday party. Did you get that connection? It's funny how our social events have changed so much- we've gone from engagements to weddings to baby showers to now 1st birthday parties. 9 month Jahni and 1 year Chloe had a fun time playing. The best part was that Minnie Mouse showed up. Fun!
