Visiting Relatives

We visited many many relatives including my dad's sister, sister-in-law, neices and nephews (my cousins), my grandma's brothers and sisters (my great aunts and great uncles)- so good to be able to visit everyone.

Lunch in Mangalore

A new hotel opened in Mangalore, Ocean Pearl, so we went to try the hotel restaurant for lunch. Definitely very yummy. Jahni is getting hard to take out to eat. All the flatware ends up on the floor, plates and glassware beware- you may break, and trying to keep her attention is definitely a huge undertaking. Behavior of course, gets thrown out the door.

Anu's Baby

Anuradha, or Anu, our close family friend recently had a baby named Nia. We were lucky enough to get to meet her. Here's us with the new family and a pic of the glowing mom and baby. Congrats also to grandma Chitra and grandpa Ganesh Nayak.

Jahni in Mumbai

Jahni was quick to make friends at the Maumai Domestic Airport with this beautiful little girl. She was so social that she went right up to the girl to hug her and the little girl was a bit scared. So cute!

The Nordstrom Holiday Event

It is no mystery that Nordstrom is my favorite shopping destination and I am an admitted shopping fiend. This was the night of the holiday party at the Cherry Hill, NJ location complete with hot chocolate with fixings- peppermint sticks, marshmellows, whipped cream etc., appetizers, desserts, entertainment, free monogramming and other perks. I tried to get several friends to accompany me with no luck --- too bad Jessica Chan does not live in Philly, but Sunil begrudgingly came along. Surprise, surprise, he actually loved it!

Weekend in AC

Sunil and I got away for a weekend alone in Atlantic City- or should I say an overight away. We had so much fun visiting the outlets... for once it was Sunil, and not me doing the shopping, with a little spree at a new found store called "G by Guess" (an offshoot, but not the same as Guess). I would say the style is a bit edgier. We ate at a small Mexican resaurant that was not memorable for the food and Sunil, the deal hunter, found us last minute tickets to the Julio Iglesias show at Ceasar's Palace. I was very impressed with our 3rd row seats, but I must say Julio was quite the lothario. We topped off the romantic weekend with a late night bite at Continental AC (one of our favorite Steven Starr Philly eateries) and a hotel room movie-- Easy A- a high school flick that is surprisingly charming and funny. All in all a great way to spend a freezing cold east coast weekend.

Veena Atta's Visit

So for her birthday Veena came to NYC to visit and we convinced her to visit us in Philly- of course he cutest niece is a great bargaining tool. We had so much fun together and Veena and I went to diner for her birthday at Chifa, one of my favorite Philly restaurants.

Jahni Loves Swim Class

So after a few months at Gymboree play and music, we decided to move onto a new activity- swimming. This is by far Jahni's favorite activity. She is obsessed with swimming and actually cries when you try to take her out of the pool. Looks like we may have a little swimmer on our hands.

Johnson's Farm - Part 2

So this time when we went to Johnson's Farm it was broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potato, popcorn, and brussel spouts time. We took the hay ride and picked some awesome veggies. Fall reminds me of some of my favorite things- apple cider and pie, pumpkin lattes and pie, hot chocolate, gingerbread... and other yummy yum. All fall hosts my favorite holiday- Thanksgiving - whch my mom makes homemade stuffing, yams, corn, mashed potatoes and so much more.

My Second Halloween- Princess Snow White

Our little majesty (because she is the ruler of our house) was Snow White for Halloween this year and boy was she adorable. Here is her at her friends Halloween party where she had a ton of fun. Her friends Teddy and Suri were Woddy from Toy Story and a rock star respectively. We also went trick or treating down Walnut Street and the retailers who were giving out candy. Jahni had so much fun picking the candy and putting it in her jack-o-lantern basket.

Belated Birthday Dinner

So Laurie turned 30 so she got some friends together for our joint birthday. We went to Cantina Los Caballitos in South Philly and I really had a great time. The food was good and adult company is always such a treat. Happy birthday to us!

My Birthday San Francisco Style

We went to San Francisco for my birthday, which started off with flowers and a great gift from Sunil, a venture to Napa for a couple wineries and great lunch and then dinner with friends. So much fun! and of course this was only our second child free few day trip, so it was extra special because I really tried to savor every minute.

Wine Tasting and More Birthday Fun

We went to Napa for the day on my birthday and it was so much fun. There is also a pic of Veena's mini garage- the things people put up with to live in great cities amazes me. The first pic is Sunil with his friend Ricky at dinner at Dosa in San Francisco (memorable for down right awful service).

Gap Baby

We just found out about this Gap baby contest where the kids have to wear Gap clothes and people vote on the cutest. What do you think? Do you think she could be a Gap baby?
