Unexpected Blessing

Our Baby, GG, arrived today. She came early so we were quite unprepared but astonishingly enough the Shenoy family had come down for the weekend to help us with the baby room and our apartment so her timing was kind of ingenious. Also, her Aunt Veena was coming to NYC that week and also fortuitously was able to visit her new niece.

Labor was very unusual because I did not know what to expect and I thought I was just feeling pressure in my stomach. Turns out they were contractions and nearly 24 hours and one epidural later I had our beautiful baby girl, who no longer is GG.

Avi's Graduation Party

We went to Avi's graduation in CT this weekend. Sunil was unfortunately post call and had to sleep in the car having coming off of his shift at 7am on Saturday morning. His hospital changed the ICU days to 6 working days a week, which makes for a miserable schedule. I'm glad, however, that he got one shift out of the way before GG is born. We ended up renting a car to get to CT and arrived around 3pm.

The grad party was fun with entertainment from the new graduate himself (and his band) and lots of friends and family. It was held at the West Avon Congretational Church (same site as my high school grad party 10 years ago). I cannot believe my little brother is going off to college. Sometimes I feel that I myself only recently graduated. However, if I count the years I've been out the number is slowly creeping up.

I'm excited to have Avi join us in Philly soon. . .
